About Zamani Coffee Ltd

Zamani – Brewing Our Coffee Heritage

At Zamani Coffee, we’re passionate about creating a sustainable future through ethical coffee sourcing. Nestled on the lush slopes of Uganda’s iconic Mount Elgon in Sipi, Kapchorwa, our beans are cultivated by over 250 dedicated small-scale farmers. We champion sustainable practices like shade-grown coffee and reforestation, empowering our farmers with knowledge and a livelihood, while protecting the environment.

Most of our coffee is sourced from female farmers and elderly farmers on Mt. Elgon. We work closely with our farmers community and encourage sustainable farming practices like shade tree planting, soil conservation and community building initiatives.

About Us

How we make a difference!

We're not just about the beans; we're about the people who grow them. To support our farmers in the Sipi region, we provide essential farming supplies like gumboots, coveralls, and tarpaulins. These tools help them work more efficiently and protect themselves from the elements, ensuring a better quality of life and a more sustainable coffee harvest.

We're working hand-in-hand with our farmers in the Sipi region to improve their coffee-growing practices. One key initiative is promoting shade-grown coffee. By planting trees among the coffee plants, we're not only creating a more sustainable ecosystem but also enhancing the quality and flavor of the beans. Shade trees help regulate temperature, retain moisture, and enrich the soil, resulting in a richer, more complex cup of coffee.

We're dedicated to sustainable farming practices, and we're empowering our farmers in Sipi with the knowledge and tools they need. We train them in techniques like proper weeding, soil erosion control on the mountain slopes, and the use of natural fertilisers like cow dung and coffee husks. By adopting these sustainable methods, our farmers can improve soil health, reduce environmental impact, and produce higher-quality coffee beans.
